Facebook is Building a New Social Commerce Empire!
Updated: Jun 12, 2020
Announced by the CEO of Facebook aka Mark Zuckerberg during a live, Facebook is launching a full-service social commerce platform to help as many small businesses survive these days - the one shop across all their apps!
As an online entrepreneur and digital marketing consultant, I am thrilled to hear this! As I don't have an official website for my small e-commerce business, I have been running on marketplaces and social media for my entire small business for a year.
My only wish is, that they make all these features accessible ASAP worldwide and not only in selected regions. I have had my Facebook catalogue on my Facebook business page but have not been allowed to integrate on Instagram, neither do I have music, donations or money feature yet!

Social media is about to get more LIT 🔥🔥🔥
Facebook Shops make it easy for businesses to set up a single online store for customers to access on both Facebook and Instagram as well as Messenger and WhatsApp for seamless communication and check-out.
In Facebook Shops you’ll be able to message a business through WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct to ask questions, get support, track deliveries and more. And in the future, you’ll be able to view a business’ shop and make purchases right within a chat in WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct.
They are adding a new shop tab in the navigation bar, so you can get to Instagram Shop in just one tap.
Soon, sellers, brands and creators will be able to tag products from their Facebook Shop or catalog before going live and those products will be shown at the bottom of the video so people can easily tap to learn more and purchase. Think QVC but on Facebook!
Facebook are also testing ways to make it easier to earn rewards with businesses you love by enabling you to connect your loyalty programs, like the points program at your local cafe, to your Facebook account. They’re also exploring ways to help small businesses create, manage and surface a loyalty program on Facebook Shops.
They are also working more closely with partners like Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce to give small businesses the support they need.
Facebook is essentially going to be the one-stop platform to run online businesses, from social media, to ads, commerce, communication, and everything you need.
